That New Car Smell!

We just bought a new car (April 04, 2005!).  2005 Toyota Corolla XRS.  11 miles on it when we test drove it and 21 miles when we drove it off the lot.  This is the car on this website except it is black:  http://www.toyota.com/vehicles/2005/corolla/exterior.html .  I always thought that Corolla’s were ugly, cheap cars, but they have come a LOOOONNNGGG way since that time!  This is my very first “brand new” car and probably the last I will ever buy new. J We had been looking for a new car as mine was starting to deteriorate and I really needed something more dependable.  This is a very quality car and we got a great deal on it.  It came within my price range after haggling with the fine folks at Manhattan Little Apple Toyota Honda.  Of course they undervalued my vehicle as they had the wholesaler tell them what he would give for it (he was there the night we were working on the deal).

Update: I finally got to wash my car last night.  It took a LOOONG time because it is a black car.  I didn't realize how hard black is to maintain.  It looks really nice now.  I am unhappy to report that I found a huge scratch that wasn't there before on the passenger side after washing it.

The car just rolled on 1100 miles today.  That means the engine is officially broke in and the car can now be “FUN” to drive.  I have been out for a couple of “fun” drives, and I am happy to report that it does not disappoint!  Great car for the price, and it has come a LONG way when they started the series back in 1974.
