The Code Room

I watched The Code Room's pilot episode, and although it wasn't the greatest, it does have a good concept.   The show featured putting three coders, one laptop with five hours of battery life, and instructions in a room together to see what happens when you give them a critical project.  Will they actually meet the specs when the battery life runs out?

Of course the host of the show is hot, and a little over enthused to be there.  She was a little too excited about the coding (which was a little lame to watch), but she was easy to look at.  Of course the idea of the show is demonstrate a lesson, too.  Educational television isn't always the most interesting to watch.  It seems to me to be Microsoft's way of pulling in more programmers to the .NET architecture.  It is a good idea, but it is still a marketing technique nonetheless.  It does have some entertaining value, but so does .NET Rocks.

My Grade: C+

As this show matures, it could become something much better.  I think people like to see competition, and I think it would be better if coders (or teams of coders) were competing against each other.
