Black Friday, how do I love thee? Let me count the ways...

It's about that time of the year again.  A time when there is love in the air and people killing each other to save a buck.  A heartfelt time of friendship and thanksgiving while others push and shove.  The Friday after Thanksgiving.  Yes, Black Friday.  A special time that is always packed with people fighting to get great deals; pushing and shoving to get their kids that one gift that the rotten lil. .... probably don't even deserve.

Why do I love Black Friday? Well, it could be the smell of competition.  I like to compete for great deals, even when I know I could do it all from the comfort of my living room.  And why not make it easy on myself and just stay home?  Something about the sport of shopping pulls me out.  I guess I like the thrill of it all, it's exciting! There is just something about it that makes me feel like I have an edge that I don't otherwise find. Plus I usually get exactly what I want in the stores without having to go online and then wait for a few days.  Some of the things I buy on this day are for other people, but most of it is for me.  Merry Christmas to me (as said by my brother and I)!

The one day of the year when I shop in some of these stores for anything major.  The gifts I get are for others, but some of the electronics gifts are for me and some are for my supplies for the year.  It seems every year Staples has had free 100 pack CD's AR (After Rebate), but this year I haven't seen it as one of their deals *sigh*

Stores I will be visiting (items in mind - if the sources are reliable):

  1. Staples - http://instorespecials.staples.com/staples/default.aspx?action=entry&pretailerid=-99906&siteid=144&adref=email&r=5160.4367639&sneakpeek=y&storeID=2278824
    • Maxtor 160GB 7200 RPM HardDrive $39.94 AR
    • I/O Magic 16X Dual Layer DVD Writer $39.94AR (?)  It is possible that this is only Read.
    • Techko 5-sheet strip-cut shredder FREE AR
  2. Walmart - http://www.resellerratings.com/c-1/s-1/av-1/id3677.html
    • Apex 5.6" Portable DVD Player $99.74
    • Kodak Easy Share DX4530 Digital Camera with Docking Station $198
  3. JC Penney
    • Free Gift for first 500 customers
  4. Sears - http://www.resellerratings.com/c-1/s-1/av-1/id3736.html
    • $10 GC to the first 200 Customers
    • Mens Leather Gloves $7.99
    • Canon MiniDV Camcorder $299.99
    • Sylvania 27" Stereo Color TV $138
    • Craftsman 24-Piece Screwdriver Set $29.99
  5. Best Buy - http://www.resellerratings.com/c-1/s-1/av-1/id3681.html
    • Apex 27" Television $89.99   !!!!!!!!!!!! ? I think I want to see an ad on this first...
    • Apex Progressive-Scan DVD Player $19.99
    • Kodak CX6445 4MP 4x Optical Zoom Digital Camera $149.99
  6. K-Mart - http://www.resellerratings.com/c-1/s-1/av-1/id3679.html
    • Kodak CX 7300 3.2MP Digital Camera with $20 Gift Card $99.95

And there you have it.  It seems like everyone is selling Digital Cameras cheap this year.  hmmmmm.  Too bad I already have one.  Also too bad that is just out of the range of the price I would spend on someone for a gift (too many people to buy for).

Got the JC Penney Gift, the Sears GC, and everything at Staples except that darn DVD Write Drive. :)

I was incorrect on the 27" TV for $90.
