Weddings...

This weekend I will be attending the wedding of a close friend of mine (the bride).  I haven’t attended a wedding of this caliber in, well, ever.  I have been to weddings of other friends of mine, but I am pretty sure this is going to top theirs by the sheer amount of attendees, dollars spent, etc.  I am interested in watching the fiasco because, as you may already know, I am getting married in a year and want to see how things play out.  We won’t have a production of this magnitude though, because we don’t have the capital required to host such a large attendance.  Anyway, I digress.

After the wedding, we will attend the reception, where alcohol will be served.  Depending on the amount of friendly faces we see at the reception will determine the total amount of time that we spend there. What I mean to say is, the groom’s friends (most all are military, so they are close) will stay at the reception for an extended period of time. I don’t believe we know many of his friends and we have never met his family.  The more people we know, the more fun we will have.  Not knowing alot of the people on the groom's side may mean that we won't stay too long. We will go and have a good time mingling with everyone, dancing, and yes, a little drinking.  I don't feel too comfortable drinking a lot of free alcohol, especially knowing that it is costing them an arm and a leg (and then some). <smile>  After things settle down, if we don’t know a lot of the people still there, we will ensure that we have dropped off our gifts, and skedaddle.

Should be quite an occasion.
